Whatever
your reasons for choosing yoga – physical,
mental and/or spiritual, we aim to provide an enjoyable and memorable
holiday, which could even change the quality of your life forever!
“Yoga for the body and spirit. Superb – I
will be back!”
Barbara, Isle of Wight
Diana and Mohan invite you for a two-week vacation in their comfortable
and peaceful yoga centre, set amongst the palm trees, just three minutes’ walk
from the beach and the Arabian sea. We provide yoga classes, ayurvedic
massage and treatments, accommodation, delicious breakfasts and a friendly
place to stay.
Our yoga holidays are based in Kailasam Yoga & Ayurveda Centre,
in the seaside village of Kovalam, in Kerala. It’s the perfect
place to combine yoga with a relaxing and exotic holiday.
We hold two yoga classes each day – on our specially designed,
palm-leaf-shaded roof. Between classes, you will find plenty of time
to relax and explore the local vicinity.
In the middle of the fortnight, we have a two-day break from yoga, to
give you time to explore Kerala or to relax in Kovalam. Many guests like
to take a trip on the famous Backwaters during this time.
Yoga is a natural and ancient Indian system – an approach to life – which
produces a healthy body and a steady, peaceful mind. These are not only
goals in themselves, but also considered to aid spiritual awareness.
Yoga
is taught by Diana Shipp, a British citizen who now lives at Kailasam.
Diana’s teaching is based on the Sivananda style of hatha yoga,
with other influences from Indian and European teachers, and from her
own experience. The style is classical yoga with variations, based on
a series of postures (asanas), considered to provide the maximum benefit
to body, mind and spirit. The afternoon classes are more relaxing and
meditative.
The yoga classes are suitable for all – men and women – beginners
and the more experienced. There is no competition in yoga, and it is
possible to adapt the asanas for different body shapes, ages and abilities.
Our yoga holidays will improve your strength and flexibility, and calm
your mind. Learning to control your breath (pranayama) and to recharge
your body’s batteries through relaxation will have a positive and
beneficial effect that will spill over into your everyday life.

be back!”
