Yoga, February 12th – 25th 2012
Zoë is dedicated to offering yoga suitable for all types of people, regardless of age, health or circumstance. Yoga practices will vary with each individual. She offers her students the tools to build on or develop their own authentic yoga practice through the practice of asana (posture), pranayama (breath control), dhyana (meditation) and chant.
Zoë's approach and style of teaching is inspired by the teachings of the legendary Sri. T. Krishmacharya and his son T.K.V. Desikachar. She has studied with Srivatsa Ramaswami, T.K.V Desikachar and Menaka Desikachar. She continues to study this approach with Paul Harvey of Bristol, and on a one to one basis with her personal teacher Janet Evans of London.
There will be two classes a day which will focus on different themes and ideas. Each class will include careful sequencing of postures, dynamic as well as static posture work, attention to and precise application of the breath. Some classes may be more strenuous, some more meditative, in some Zoë may introduce sound and references to yoga philosophy. You will find the classes enjoyable, restful and refreshing. By the end of the week you will experience increased body awareness, strength and flexibility, a deepening of the breath, mental clarity and emotional balance.
